What is rakeback?
Rakeback is a way to recieve some of the rake that you pay each pot back to yourself. Rake is what the pokersite take as a fee for players playing at their site. In onlinepoker a hand is raked when the pot reaches their minimum limit ie $1, when it does they take 5%($0,05) from the pot. If the pot reaches $10 they take 5% of that ($0,50 total.. up to $3 which is the maxrake). If you play NL it's enough that you recieve cards in order for it to count that you contributed rake. So you doesn't actually have to put any money in the pot in order to recieve rakeback on the rake taken. Thats why rakeback is extra profitable for players playing at tables with higher average pots.
Example 1 with rakeback:
You play 5000 raked hands in a month at NL 10-player tables with: $0.25/$0.50 blinds($15 avg pot)
You will recieve the following in rakeback: 5000 * ( ($0.75/10) * 0,30 ) = $112,5
Example 2 with rakeback:
You play 5000 raked hands in a month at NL 10-player tables with: $0.50/$1 blinds($20 avg pot)
You will recieve the following in rakeback: 5000 * ( ($1.00/10) * 0,30 ) = $150
Example 3 with rakeback:
You play 5000 raked hands in a month at NL 10-player tables with: $1/$2 blinds($45 avg pot)
You will recieve the following in rakeback: 5000 * ( ($2.25/10) * 0,30 ) = $337.50
Example 4 with rakeback:
You play 5000 raked hands in a month at NL 6-player tables with: $1/$2 blinds($45 avg pot)
You will recieve the following in rakeback: 5000 * ( ($2.25/6) * 0,30 ) = $562.50
